這兒的 "on" 是 patricle
可是
The little boy decided on the boat. ( He makes a decision on the boat)
這兒的 "on" 是 preposition
為什麼會不一樣?

據我所知 PARTICLE 算是一個統稱
其涵蓋了
► 冠詞 (eg. THE, A / AN...)
► 不定詞質詞 (eg. TO, as in "to walk")
► 介系詞質詞 (eg. OVER, as in "I went over the hill")
► 副詞質詞 (eg. EVEN, as in "even the youngest of them")
► 感歎詞 (eg. HELLO, OH)
► sentence connectors (eg. SO, as in "so what", WELL, as in "Well, what is it")
► Tags or tag questions (sentence-finals) (eg. ... AREN'T WE? ... DIDN'T WE?)
► 連接詞 (eg. AND, OR, BUT...)
由此可延伸...
「冠詞」可以是「質詞」，可是「質詞」不見得是「冠詞」
而 PREPOSITION 算是 PARTICLE 的一種
最常用到的介系詞

The little boy "DECIDED ON" the boat. ( He chooses the boat )
小男孩選擇了這艘船
這邊的「ON」是在跟 DECIDED 結合成為片語
DECIDE ON 意思是選擇
由於並不是 "介系詞"
所以就以統稱 "patricle" 來區分 (decide "on")
The little boy decided "ON THE BOAT". ( He makes a decision on the boat)
小男孩在船上做出了決定
這邊的「ON」則是要表示是在船上做出的決定
因為「ON」屬於 THE BOAT
所以他的類別是 "preposition" ("on" the boat)
